The Finisterre is the star of Ted Baker’s growing range of audio products. As you’d expect from a fashion company, the Ted Baker London Finisterre is very stylish and attractively designed.

Since Ted Baker isn’t known for its audio products, you might have doubts about this radio’s performance. Let’s see how it fares…

Performance and use

This radio is built to a very high standard, and all of the materials feel sturdy and high-quality. Radio reception is good on both FM and DAB, and the sound can be modified using the EQ settings. The speakers have a good amount of bass, which can of course be turned down if you prefer less.

As the Finisterre has Bluetooth, you can use it as a wireless speaker to stream music, radio or podcasts from your smartphone or tablet. This saves you the cost and hassle of buying a radio and a Bluetooth speaker separately.

The LCD screen is on the top of the radio and can be dimmed, which is great if you have it by your bed as it won’t disturb you at night.

Verdict

You might think twice about buying a radio from a fashion brand rather than a radio manufacturer. However, the Ted Baker London Finisterre’s sound quality and functionality easily rival those of other DAB radios.

This radio looks fantastic, and it doubles up as a wireless speaker thanks to its Bluetooth functionality. The only major drawback is that it’s mains-operated only, so it’s not portable.

Similar radios

One radio with a similar price and similar features is the Roberts Expression. The Expression is portable and has a built-in battery charger, but unlike the Finisterre it doesn’t have Bluetooth.

Another similar radio is the Roberts Classic Blutune. Like the Finisterre, it has Bluetooth connectivity for streaming music wirelessly. It has a classic wooden design and has a similar price tag to that of the Finisterre.
