Performance and use
For a radio at this price point, the Bush Wooden DAB radio has very good sound quality, and sounds crisp and clear even if there isn’t much depth or bass.
The radio is generally easy to use and is light enough to be carried around without difficulty. It can be plugged into the mains or powered by 4 C-sized batteries, which can be rechargeables. As with all portable DAB radios, the battery life is short, and the batteries will probably run out within 8 hours when listening to digital radio.
The Bush Wooden DAB radio has a nice retro design that would look good in a kitchen. It has a small 25.5 x 9.2 cm footprint, and doesn’t take up too much space on a kitchen counter or tabletop.
The biggest downside with this radio is the lack of a headphone socket, so there’s no option to listen to it privately.
Pros
- Very good sound quality for the price
- Simple and easy to use
- Stylish and sturdy
Verdict
While it may not have advanced features or much depth to the sound, the Bush Wooden DAB Radio is a great all-round DAB radio for the price. It looks good and offers decent sound quality for a budget radio. Its biggest flaw is that it doesn’t have a headphone jack, but if you don’t mind that, it offers excellent value for money.

Totally useless. Eats batteries and buzzes when used with the mains power supply. Not very sensitive. The extendable antenna was so fragile that it broke off the first time I extended it. Took it down the tip.
Will this radio’s DAB function work in Germany?
In Germany they use the newer DAB+ standard, so it would be better to choose a radio with DAB+. One similarly priced radio with DAB+ is the AZATOM Blackfriars.
